A ceremony for the first graduating class of the COEUS Experts Program was held on May 14th and included the graduates, their supervisors, and representatives from the JHSPH Office of Research Administration (ORA) and Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS).
In September 2013, ORIS approached ORA with the idea for a training program that would offer highly qualified COEUS users the opportunity to advance their knowledge of COEUS and become “experts” in several areas of the application. The trainees would participate in monthly phone calls, correspond with ORIS staff on particularly interesting and problematic COEUS help desk issues, and participate in testing periodic COEUS upgrades as the University prepares for the transition to Kuali COEUS.
The inaugural class was nominated by ORA, and both we and their supervisors are proud of their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the program. The graduates presented a final project at the May 14th ceremony, which included a tip sheet for Principal Investigators to review their own COEUS records for completeness and accuracy.
Again, congratulations to graduates Joyclyn Gilmore, Paula Foltz, Christine Atkinson, April Hawkins, and Ben Supan. And a very special Thank You to the all the supervisors who supported their graduates throughout the program!
