On Monday, Sally Rockey, NIH’s Deputy Director for External Research, posed a question to the science community: “How do you think [NIH] should manage science in fiscally challenging times?” Not surprisingly, people were quick to comment on the challenges of this question, but the overall number of responses is, so far, not congruent to the magnitude of the issue. The way NIH chooses to handle this situation will directly affect us more than any Occupy Wall Street Movement or GOP debate, but why are we giving it less of our attention?
The challenge now is to take the time to join the conversation. Read the post by Ms. Rockey (click here) and blog a comment or email your opinion to the NIH. A few minutes giving your opinion will help the NIH and, ultimately, yourself.
